Good afternoon folks – on behalf of ALL of the adult leaders of Troop 464 (current and past), I respectfully reach out to each of you with with one simple request:
We would all really appreciate if every available supporter of Troop 464 and the general scouting community could attend Mr Long’s services wearing class A uniform.
Regardless of whether you are a current member or not… this show of support would really mean a lot to us and the family that survives Jim Long.
Mr Long has been an active supporter of the scouting movement in Pearland for generations. During this time he has been a friend and mentor to many, if not most, of the active leaders that you and your scouts associate with today.
Amongst scouting volunteers, we often joke with a wink that the commitment is “just an hour a week”… for Jim, this commitment was one that spanned a period that is longer than many of our adult lives… all of this time was spent with troop 464. …Jim Long is an integral part of the fiber of Troop 464 and it is safe to say that the character of our unit would not be quite the same without the years he has given us.
Jim’s wife, Shirley, knows how much Troop 464 meant to her husband… please help us show just how much Jim meant to us within 464 and the scouting community!
Thank you for your consideration of this request.

Visitation Wednesday 7/5, 6-8PM; service, 11AM, Thursday 7/6. Both at Claytons funeral home, 5530 West Broadway, Pearland 77581.
